We are the Jacobson’s! We own Canyon Rim Kennels-a small family-owned business located in the Magic Valley. We were married in 2019, and have one sweet little baby girl together who keeps us and our dogs constantly busy and entertained.
Kagen Jacobson is Idaho born and raised and has had the opportunity throughout his life to be around all types of animals. Working on a family-owned dairy farm, he gained the understanding that animals have a language of their own. Using cow dogs to help work the cattle always brought a fondness to canines and their abilities. After graduating college with an Animal Science degree and returning to the family farm, Kagen and his brothers bought a hunting dog. That was just the beginning, as they turned one then two into hunters. What began as a hobby has become a lifestyle.
Holly Jacobson is from Blackfoot, Idaho. She grew up on her dad’s 8-acre hobby farm with cows, ducks, chickens, pigs, as well as a large garden and orchard. Growing up she had the opportunity to enjoy family pets as well (namely cats and dogs) and was always very fond of them as well as the other animals on the farm. It was always her dream to have a litter of puppies come from one of her pets and so with her father’s help, this dream came true (although being novices-they did not turn out to be
pure-bred golden retriever puppies as planned LOL). Holly realized through this experience that she would love to continue breeding dogs in the future! She is always great with the puppies and enjoys socializing and getting to know each of their personalities. Recently she graduated with her degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Biology.
Our family has completely fallen in love with the Wirehaired Vizsla breed. Even our little one loves to play with these dogs as they are so great around children. We spend a great amount of time with our dogs-allowing each individual dog to spend time with us inside, taking them to run, along with training, and hunting, and playing games with them that allow for them the mental and physical exercise that this breed of dogs needs. We also spend a great amount of time with our puppies ensuring that they are adequately socialized prior to going to their own homes. As full-blown dog lovers in our home, it is never difficult for our dogs and puppies to get the attention they need (or the attention we need from them as these dogs are such people lovers).
