Our goal with our breeding program is to provide a great family dog to those who choose our kennel. We also like to encourage traits that will produce in the field. We try to hunt our dogs as much as we find time, our main bird of choice being the chukar. If you have not had the opportunity to find yourself standing on top of a mountain you climbed, listening to these birds fly by you chuckling, then you might not be living right, lol!
Once you settle on the breed, then you can find the breeder that you feel most matches your intents. We have found that each dog in our breeding program has traits and personalities that we love. Danger is probably the best well-mannered in the house. He loves meeting new people and will usually be the first to greet you. He does have a smaller bubble with young kids. He will get up and leave whenever he is uncomfortable, and we don’t push that bubble. We are aware of his behavior.
Other traits we love are those that produce in the field. I might be biased but I don’t know if Cash has ever missed the opportunity to honor the point. Hadley has a great amount of bird-hunting potential as she has a lot of endurance when training. She also gets very excited when seeing a bird and has a great deal of bird drive. Both these dogs along with their hunting potential make for great family pets. These dogs are very even-tempered and well-behaved and are even very patient and loving with kids. We feel like these are traits that are great to have in future pups.
It’s important to remember that each pup will have its own personality but the lines they come from can have a big impact on how they turn out. That’s why it is important to understand what you are looking for and pass that information on to the breeder for more insight. The breeder can make sure the pups are on the right path and can give great insights to which pup’s traits will meet your family’s needs.
